Based in Southampton, KASTO Ltd is best known for the supply of sawing machines and storage systems manufactured by its parent company, KASTO Maschinenbau GmbH, Germany.

The UK company (download a PDF of our organisations structure) also markets selected ranges of complementary equipment under sole agency agreements, such as sawing machines and window fabricating machinery from FOM, and end-working machines from Caorle, both of which are Italian machine builders.

One of KASTO's particular strengths is the design and project management of fully automated production centres, comprising CNC circular and band sawing machines, or indeed other machine tools such as lathes and sheet metal profilers, linked with computer-controlled storage and retrieval facilities having very high storage capacity in a remarkably compact footprint.

Many stockholders and manufacturers use such systems to reduce labour costs, maximise machining up-time, and ensure short lead times through efficient store management and retrieval of stock. Raw material and work-in-progress may be stored in the form of sheet, bar, tube, or profile. Material may also be held on pallets as well as in stillages and boxes.

In addition to servicing equipment from KASTO, FOM and Caorle, KASTO Ltd services Missler bandsaws and circular saws, following the French company's decision in 2006 to cease manufacturing machines. As part of a service contract, any make of sawing machine will be included in a programme of regular preventative maintenance carried out by KASTO engineers.

The company also specialises in supplying refurbished machines. A full range of spares and consumables such as blades, coolants and lubricants are available ex-stock from the Southampton centre.
