The double-column bandsaw is indispensable today when a cutting performance for even difficult to cut materials up to a tensile strength of approx. 1400 N/mm² is expected. Two columns allow a better transformation of the feed strength needed for the sawing process with better cutting performances compared to swivel arm machines. State of technology is the use of bevel spur gear drives as drive source in connection with a frequency-controlled saw motor instead of worm gear drives as well as the use of low-maintenance linear guides for saw and material feed. Herewith, bandsaws can be adjusted to optimum cutting parameters regarding their cutting speed and feed rate.
